• This film is based on the book of the same name written by James Patterson, however there are several stark differences between the novel and the film. In the book Alex Cross is 38 and has two kids, however in the film he is retired and in his late 50's. In the book Alex Cross and Jezzie Flannigan are lovers, in the movie they are not. In the book the kidnapping involves two kids and spans over the course of two years and several books, however in the film it only involves one kid and takes place over just a few days.
• This storyline actually precedes the storyline in the film Kiss The Girls, however this movie was rewritten as a sequel.
