    For Alfie (Jude Law), life was about enjoying everything women could offer - one night at a time. From wealthy widows with a taste for younger men (Susan Sarandon) to his single-mom girlfriend (Marisa Tomei), Alfie had it all... and wasn't looking for anything more.
    But when the consequences of his playboy lifestyle suddenly affect the women in his life and his best friend (Omar Epps), Alfie begins to wonder if there is more to life that these fleeting romances. And if so, what's it all about?

TRIVIA TO IMPRESS YOUR EASILY IMPRESSED FRIENDS

• This film is based on the play of the same name by Bill Naughton, who later adapted the play into a movie in 1966 starring Michale Caine and Shirley Winters.
• According to Charles Shyer, in the scene where Jude Law punches the windshield, he could not get the actor angry enough to make the punch believable. So he told Law to imagine the windshield was the paparazzi, when he hit the windshield in the next take, he hit the glass so hard he broke it.
• The portrait of a young Susan Sarandon seen in this film was made for this movie. The actress gave artist Russel Oxley pictures of herself from the 1970's and he painted the picture seen in the film. At the end of shooting Sarandon liked the painting so much she took it home with her.
